The Temple addresses community inequities by providing open-access resources, distributing essential supplies, and creating safety nets for vulnerable populations. Our efforts focus on dismantling barriers to basic necessities and ensuring that disadvantages do not prevent individuals from thriving.
Education
The Temple champions communal growth by teaching the values of mutual aid, spiritual mindfulness, and Lao heritage. Our teachings focus on compassion and how to help one another, deepening the community’s understanding of Buddhist spiritual practices, and passing down cultural customs to the next generation.
Unburdens Local Government
Soukharam Temple actively reduces the operational and financial strain on public municipalities by independently managing community welfare initiatives. By stepping in to handle social support, crisis outreach, and civic engagement, we absorb responsibilities that would otherwise require taxpayer funding and public agency resources.
Helping Those In Need
The Temple delivers immediate aid to individuals experiencing acute crisis, poverty, or sudden hardship. This part of our mission focuses on direct-relief, including emergency food distribution, basic needs assistance, and financial support during times of personal or economic hardship.

The 10th Annual Golf Tournament Supporting Soukharam Temple, held on August 15, 2026, marked a significant milestone in the Temple’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the Lao Buddhist community and preserve its cultural and spiritual heritage.
July 4th Independence Day Celebration at Soukharam Temple
The Soukharam Temple community warmly welcomes families, friends, and visitors to join us in celebrating Independence Day on July 4th. This special occasion provides an opportunity for our community to come together in gratitude, unity, and fellowship while honoring the freedoms and opportunities that make the United States a nation of hope and diversity.
Lao New Year 2026
We had a wonderful turnout at this year’s New Year’s festival! Thank you all so much for joining us at Soukharam Buddhist Temple to celebrate yet another year together, honoring our vibrant traditions and welcoming the blessings of the upcoming season.
New Community Center Project
This concept image showcases the design vision for our new Lao Buddhist Temple Community Center. The architecture honors sacred Lao traditions, featuring a multi-tiered red-tiled roof, ornate golden finials, and a beautifully carved wooden pediment over the main entryway. This specialized space is thoughtfully divided into two main functional areas to serve our community’s diverse needs. It includes a modern indoor hall equipped with large glass windows for climate-controlled activities, alongside an integrated, open-air roofed pavilion designed to host vibrant cultural events, community gatherings, and educational classes. Final construction may differ from the concept image based on building codes and the local architects interpretation, but we hope to have an end product that serves all of the purposes listed above.
To bring this vital spiritual and cultural hub to life, we are officially launching a fundraising campaign to cover the comprehensive costs of design, engineering, and construction. This center will serve as a sanctuary for mindfulness, a classroom for preserving our rich heritage, and a gathering place for generations to come. We humbly reach out to our community, friends, and supporters for financial donations of any size to help turn this architectural vision into a reality. Every contribution directly funds the foundations of a space dedicated to peace, learning, and unity.
